Everyone loves the comfort of one kind or another – including the one reading this and the gentleman who wrote it! We all have our boats of comfort. For example, it is:
- A comfortable job
- A soothing relationship
- A group of friends
- An inner place of personal pleasure in your life.
Whatever it is for you, we all sit in those boats.
That said, though, there is a time to leave the boat and step OUT.
Today, my inspiration comes from a religious Book – the Bible. The thought above came to me today as I was reading the story of Noah and eight members of his family during the flood (Genesis 8). I was specifically thrilled to hear Noah being instructed as follows,
“LEAVE THE BOAT. You, your wife, your sons, and your sons’ wives should go OUT now. Bring every living animal OUT of the boat with you — all the birds, animals, and everything that crawls on the earth. These animals will make many more animals, and they will fill the earth again.” (verses 16-17).
Wow! Did you hear that? LEAVE THE BOAT… GO OUT NOW!
This could be your word at this time of the year. You may need to evaluate which comfortable boats you have been seated in for long yet it is fitting that you now leave the boat, that you get out now. The instruction to Noah has indicated that outside the boat, outside your comfort zone, shall be visible multiplication, unstoppable reproduction, and unusual productivity.
I encourage you to be like Noah who, in verses 18-19, we are told, “WENT OUT with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives. All the animals, everything that crawls, and every bird LEFT THE BOAT. All the animals CAME OUT of the boat in family groups.”
“Remember, your comfort zone is your failure zone. Push yourself into the discomfort zone because there, your true success awaits your grand arrival. Out of your pain shall come gain, out of your breakdowns shall come breakthroughs, and out of your trials shall come triumphs.” – Samuel A. Bakutana
Following the will of your Creator for your life and destiny may require breaking with the status quo at this point in your life. Shall you please leave that boat and get out right now? You have a choice. The one thing I am sure about is that once you make that first leap, you will realize that #YouWillManage!
Best regards to you!
