Have you ever known, like Alex Lyon once asserted, that “Leaders speak differently than the average individual contributor”?
Well, they do… and at Inspired Leaders International today we will explore what Dan Lok meant wen he said, “The art of communication is the language of ladership.”
In our experience, three things stand true:
- Many leaders consider themselves okay as regards to effective communication, thereby confusing “talking” with “communicating”, until they are chanced to get solid, constructive feedback from some candid colleague!
- Many other leaders are too important in their own eyes to admit the presence of space for improvement. So they don’t join others in learning, unlearning and relearning certain vital skills especially those that at times may SEEM quite easy to pull off.
- A few leaders who finally choose to focus on their life and destiny ignore common discourse and step forward to be empowered for their next level, equipped for higher achievement, and trained for better productivity. Those are the ones we often admire from a distance, genuinely clap for in public spaces, and privately wish we too could do equally as well as them.
We at Inspired Leaders International are so excited to be heavily involved in competently working with #3 above to expand their capacity for multi-dimensional victory in both personal and professional endeavours.
(For example, today (20.5.2019) we start a 7-session Certificate in Public Speaking and Presentation Mastery course for a few, wonderful leaders at our premises on Mawanda Road Kamwokya, Kampala. We still have 2 vacancies for the lucky ones who enter in at the 11th hour and still fly with excellence. Only those intentional on being sharpened powerfully through truly practical sessions should call / whatsapp +256782163416 now and lay their hands on this opportunity.)
Let’s exercise leadership. Indeed it’s not enough to have vision; you have to put that vision into clear, concise, persuasive language so as to rally teams towards it for transformational action.
Go and effectively communicate today.
Live. Love. Lead.
