While growing up, I had a list of about 5 people I was planning to kill as soon as I become a strong adult. (The story is long and I won’t get into it here.) When I decided to let go of the grudges, it still took me about two years to truly release them in my heart. But when that finally happened, I’ve since been happily assaulted by unending smiles, an unexplainable peace of mind, and increased productivity.

It is always my joy to hear someone say, “Finally, I let go of the grudge I was holding against him/her. I forgave.” Let me tell you 9 quick reasons why I rejoice whenever I hear those sweet words. It speaks of:

  1. Escape from the ruthless manacles of self-inflicted emotional pain that comes from holding ont.
  2. Release from the merciless shackles of perpetual bitterness that slowly eats one up.
  3. Falling off of the oppressive chains of unrestrained anger that leaves one psychologically out of control.
  4. Freedom from the searing pan of unnecessary stress and useless depression as a result of inner baggage.
  5. Liberty from the smelly cell of stiffled creativity that results from a mind made unproductively busy by unfruitful plans of vengeance.
  6. Security from the scorching sun of acquired negativity, learnt while regurgitating on how much you were hurt.
  7. Victory over the blazing embers of ill-feelings that develop when nurturing hatred towards the offenders.
  8. Emancipation from the blistering razor of God’s wrath that falls onto those who say “Forgive us as we forgive those who sin against us” yet they still hold onto grudges.
  9. Immunity against the devastating axe of stolen destiny that emanates from a life of unending battles with others.

So, honestly, it is always my joy to hear someone say, “Finally, I let go of the grudge I was holding against him/her. I forgave.” Forgive. Let go. Be free. TODAY.

Don’t sacrifice your conscience to the ambition of paying back; that’s like burning picture to obtain ashes! Let go. You benefit more from it than anyone else!

Live. Love. Lead.
